Help send Oakland children back to school prepared to learn! Let’s celebrate the beginning of a new school year by giving Oakland students the tools they need to learn – With your help 2000 backpacks filled with free school supplies will be distributed as part of the 4th Annual Attend & Achieve Back to School Rally.
The 4th Annual Attend & Achieve Back to School Rally is a partnership effort with Oakland Natives Give Back, the City of Oakland- Office of the Mayor and City Administrator and Oakland Parks and Recreation- and the Oakland Unified School District. This spectacular event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, August 27th, in Oakland, at City Hall, which is located, One Frank H. Ogawa Plaza.
As is the case year after year, the event will feature
- Celebrity appearances
- Dissemination of information that is key to academic success and daily attendance
- Free computers for 6th-12th graders who attend workshop from OTEX West
- Family-friendly activities
- Teen Summit and Parent Workshops
- FREE to ALL ATTENDEES!!!
We need your help to make the 4th Annual, Attend & Achieve Back to School Rally 2011 a success!
School supplies are expensive – a cost that many families are unable to afford. That’s why donations are needed to make sure that at least 900 Oakland children, in grades K-12 have the supplies they need to begin the school year prepared, determined and ready to succeed!
Help us support children in the community by donating money, supplies and your time to our OUSD children. Proceeds from this year’s fund raising efforts will also fund designated programs for OUSD students that are geared toward increasing attendance and academic achievement in the 2011-2012 school year.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive maximum exposure. Over a thousand children and their families are expected to attend this event! You’ll enjoy on-site exposure at the Attend & Achieve Back to School Rally– and the benefit of knowing that you’ve empowered children to start the school year with the expectation of success
